Classic Field Trip
Our Classic Field Trips include Combination and Single Experience options which allow educators to mix and match exhibits with our world-class planetarium shows to create an experience that is out of this world for their students!
Exhibits

Planetarium shows

Discovery Program Trip
Offered separately from our regular field trips, Discovery Programs are designed and hosted by departments and colleges at the University of Arizona based on specific fields of science and various science concepts. Discovery Programs are only available during the fall and spring semester. Through hands-on mini workshops and exciting demonstrations, students learn from college students actively studying in the field.
The Discovery Program goals are:
- To encourage students to "think like scientists" using their observational, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- To encourage higher education by allowing interaction with University students.
- To introduce students to a variety of science fields.

Details and fine print
PAYMENT
- Payment is due in full at the time of check-in.
- Payment can be made by cash, credit card, or purchase order and should be done in one transaction.
- No coupons or additional discounts can be applied to the group visit rates; including but not limited to Museum for All, Memberships, ASTC and gift certificates.
- Groups arriving with fewer than 10 participants will be charged the base rate for your group type.
- Group rates are only available when scheduled in advance online.

CANCELING OR RESCHEDULING
- Cancellation or reschedule requests must be received by email at Flandrau@arizona.edu at least three weeks prior to your scheduled visit date.
- Cancellation or reschedule requests received with less than a three-week notice will be charged the base rate for your group type.
- The option to reschedule is dependent on availability.
CAPACITY
- Combination and Single Experience Visits can accommodate up to 75 participants.
- Groups over 75 participants who would like a Combination Visit require two registrations per time slot and will be split into two even groups rotating between exhibits and planetarium show.
- Discovery Program Visits can accommodate up to 30-35 participants depending on the program.
DURATION
- Single Experience Visit (exhibits or planetarium show): approximately 1 hour.
- Combination Visit (exhibits and planetarium show): approximately 2 hours.
- Discovery Program Visit: approximately 2 hours (exhibits or planetarium show may be added on for an additional hour).
