Join us for Summer Fusion Camp at Flandrau Science Center & Planetarium at the University of Arizona, and get ready for a summer of discovery, creativity, and adventure at our engaging and educational science camps! Each week offers an exciting new theme, from exploring Earth’s diverse ecosystems to unraveling the mysteries of the cosmos. Young scientists will get hands-on with experiments and activities that spark curiosity and innovation. Whether they’re investigating the wonders of space, diving into the world of invention, or uncovering the science behind the gross and gooey, campers will be inspired to explore, create, and dream big. - Week 1 – June 2nd-6th
- Week 2 – June 9th-13th
- Week 3 – June 16th-20th
- Week 4 – June 23rd-27th
- Week 5 (Middle school only) – June 30th-July 3rd
Times
Drop off time: 8:30 to 9:00 a.m.
Camp Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Pick up time: 4:00 to 4:30 p.m.
Cost
Non-Member Rate: $395 per child/week
Flandrau Member Rate: $355 per child/week

Weekly Themes
Week 1: June 2 - 6
2nd - 3rd Graders - Expedition Earth
Looking to beat the heat? Travel to polar ice caps, snowcapped mountains, and glittering coral reefs as we explore the Earth’s many biomes and the plants and animals that make them home.
4th - 5th Graders - Galactic Adventures
The universe is our playground in this camp that explores distant galaxies, black holes, and more. Unlock mysteries of the cosmos with special guests from the UA Department of Astronomy.
Week 2: June 9 - 13
2nd - 3rd Graders - Junior Astronomer
The discoveries are endless when you look to the stars. Become a junior astronomer as you learn about our galaxy, how to identify planets in our solar system, and the stories of the night sky in our planetarium theater. We will explore our galaxy and beyond!
4th - 5th Graders - Eco Explorers
Embark on a desert adventure with Eco Explorers! Become a junior ecologist while investigating the plants, animals, and ecosystems of the Sonoran Desert and beyond. Campers will uncover the secrets of this unique landscape while learning how to protect it.
Week 3: June 16 - 20
2nd - 3rd Graders - Grossology!
Want to get your hands dirty? We'll explore the science of digestion, decomposers, dirt, and more, uncovering the secrets of nature’s yuckiest and most fascinating processes.
4th - 5th Graders - Invention Convention
Ready to solve big problems? From brainstorming ideas to engineering prototypes, campers will discover the power of imagination and teamwork to turn dreams into reality!
Week 4: June 23 - 27
2nd - 3rd Graders - Invent It!
Unleash your creativity at Invent It!—a week where young innovators dream, design, and build. Perfect for budding inventors ready to imagine the future and make it real!
4th - 5th Graders - Science Sleuths
This exciting camp dives into the methods scientists use to solve mysteries, from cracking codes to investigating evidence. Perfect for curious minds ready to experiment, explore, and think like real-world detectives!
Week 5: June 30 - July 3rd
6th - 8th Graders - Universe of Science Revealed
This special four-day camp focuses each day on a different aspect of Flandrau's new Universe of Science exhibit, from deep space to deep inside the brain. Learn from University of Arizona professors and envision yourself as a scientist!
