In celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the dedication of the Steward Observatory on April 23, 1923, come learn about the contributions to the science of Astronomy that Steward Observatory has made over the past 100 years. Dr. Thomas A. Fleming will use the full-dome, digital projection system of the Flandrau Science Center Planetarium Theatre to illustrate the scientific discoveries made at Steward Observatory. Topics will include pulsars, black holes, dark matter, infrared and radio astronomy.
This lecture is free and open to the public.
After this lecture, head to the Steward Observatory at 1 pm for the re-dedication of the Steward Observatory Dome.
